What I got for Valentines Day.

A few days late, but this was so sweet and so beautiful I still want to share!

Kevin and I are not big Valentines Day people, but we still end up doing stuff for each other.  I made him a card and he picked me up some flowers!

And not just any flowers, because we both agree that cut flowers are a waste, but a planter with tea roses and ivy.

You can't see it in this picture, but he also scrounged up a couple smarties from the floor of his car and stuck them in the planter.  I love living plants, and he loves that I can keep them alive.  He truly does find me the best gifts.

He also got me a sweet little card and wrote his own message in it, but I'll keep that between us. ;)

Here are a couple close ups, just because I like taking pictures.

Valentines Day Mailbox

Our 7 year old was at his mom's for a four day weekend and we totally forgot he had to make a mailbox for his class's Valentines Day party.

That's alright, because I'm awfully crafty and I figured he wouldn't mind a little gift from me. :)

Nothing some construction paper, print outs and a shoe box couldn't fix, right? :)

I am the night.

Nails: Sinful Colors' Ruby Ruby

My Valentines week manicure!

Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby

I really love this candy apple red.  It's not a completely solid color.  It's got a slightly glassy look to it, which really does make it look like candy apple coating.  It's a bright, blue-based red that cheers me up.

Face Of The Day 2/11

... and a haircut! :)

Last night I decided I needed to change it up a bit.  I like having bangs, but the side sweeping business just wasn't working for me.  I've tried 'normal' bangs and those make me look like I'm 12.  So, next step?  Retro/pin-up bangs!  Armed with knowledge from a few videos I took a trip to the bathroom and snip snip snip!

One of my biggest problems with any bangs I get is that I have a cowlick on the front of my hairline. (Thanks, Dad.)  It's above my left eyebrow, and no matter how much heat, water or products I use it slowly lifts my hair up so that I look like Cameron Diaz in There's Something About Mary.

Kevin is not a fan of my bangs.  I think he's just not used to it, but he says I look like a super sexy Spock.  Which is alright for me, because that means I'm smart, logical, and sexy.  Win win win!

The best part about this cut is that there's no hair in my eyes.

WAHOOOO!

P.S.  I guess this says face of the day... well, I just have BareMinerals Black Eyeliner, Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara in black, and Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in San Francisco on! BAM!

Review: EBOOST

I received a sample of EBOOST Natural Energy in my Influenster Holiday 2012 Voxbox!  The flavor I received was Pink Lemonade.

I already take Emergen-C, so I'm not a stranger to immunity and energy supplement drinks.  I have raspberry and orange flavors and I've tried the Acai berry flavor; Pink Lemonade is a treat for me!

I know it's stupid, but I oohed and awhed over the fact that the powder and the fizz is orange, but the actual drink in the water turns pink.  It was kind of like those color changing Kool-Aids.  Hehe. :3

I was not expecting the taste.  To be clear, my sense of salty taste or whatever you'd like to call it is hyperactive.  I have to be very careful when salting things or eating pre-packaged foods.  I can barely stand to eat things like Cup O Noodles anymore because of it.  So, to me, EBOOST is VERY salty.  I gagged.  I don't know if it's just this specific flavor, but I couldn't finish it.

I gave the rest of it to Kevin and he didn't notice an overly salty taste.  He said he actually liked the flavor and finished it off for me.  However, he didn't notice any energy boosting action.

We might just be immune to energy boosting stuff.  Who knows.

So, for me this was a huge flop.  I'm sad, but at least I still have my Emergen-C.

Review: Montagne Jeunesse Face Mask

I received this in my Influenster Holiday 2012 Voxbox!  I was one of the lucky few that was chosen to receive this optional addition, and I must say they chose the right mask to send me!

Montagne Jeunesse Clean-Up Mud

The main ingredient in this mask for blemish prone skin is Aloe, which is known for its healing properties.  Evening primrose and willow are also supposed to help with blemishes.

The first thing I noticed is that the smell is a very strong medicinal scent.  It's not... bad but it's definitely different and a little off-putting at first.  I can't really put my finger on what ingredient gives it the smell.

With Mud Mask On

It goes on easily and washes off easily.  My face felt incredibly smooth and clean afterwards... I really love this mask!  It didn't irritate my skin at all.  I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but sometimes when I have an acne flare up stuff can get uncomfortable.

Mud Mask After

There wasn't a physically visible difference after I washed the Mud Mask off, but my skin was SOFFFT.

I also got about 4 applications out of this packet.  I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a one-time-use but it seems like a lot of product for one use.  If I had more of these I would definitely do a mask once or twice a week.

I'd love to try other Montagne Jeunesse products.  I am very pleased with this Clean-Up Mud.
